Premium Prize Bonds Are Registered
A Premium Prize Bond is issued in the investor’s name rather than as a bearer instrument.
The registration is linked with the investor’s bank information. National Savings states that both prize money and profit are credited directly to the registered bank account, without the normal prize-claim application used for ordinary bearer bonds.
Who Can Buy Premium Prize Bonds?
Premium Prize Bonds are available to:
- adult Pakistani citizens
- Overseas Pakistanis
They can be purchased from SBP BSC offices and authorized commercial-bank branches. National Savings lists CNIC, bank-account/IBAN information, filer documentation where applicable and nominee details among the required documents.
Premium Prize Bond Profit
Premium Prize Bonds pay profit every six months in addition to participation in quarterly draws.
National Savings currently lists the profit rate as 2.92% biannual. Profit rates can change through government notification, so check the current official rate before making a financial decision.
Draw Eligibility
An Rs.25,000 or Rs.40,000 Premium Prize Bond must normally be held for at least two months before it becomes eligible for the forthcoming draw.
